

An auto rickshaw is, among others, an iconic image for Asian countries. As souvenirs or on postcards, it is often copied and sold for tourists. Travellers usually associate the rickshaw with their adventurous feelings.
Tuk - Tuk ARA becomes the new face of India. With its friendly appearance, self-confident design and its thought through car accessories, it predestinated to win peoples affection.
The extraordinary colouring encounters either absolute approval or entire aversion. This incident encouraged me in my decision.
My aim was to revitalize the auto rickshaw and create an icon for the coming generation - nifty as a Mini Cooper, sexy as a Vespa.

Its size and force is similar to a common auto rickshaw. What attracts someone’s attention on first sight is the positioning of the wheels. - Two at the front and one at the rear. From the ecological point of view it is sustainable and up to modern standards. It is equipped with two electric wheel hubs and three lithium ion batteries. In case of an accident, individual seats, seatbelts and handles prevent the ridership from severe injuries.
The outward facing positioning of the passengers seats garantees a better overview of the traffic.
An elaborated steering system enables a 180° turn. Its center is positioned in between the two front wheels. Thanks to frontal placed push pads, the cab company has the possibility to store the ARA vertically. This is space saving as well as easy to servic
